Democratic Mayors Association Statement on Martin Luther King Jr. Day

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Democratic Mayors Association (DMA) President Mayor Levar M. Stoney issued the following statement on Martin Luther King Jr. Day:

“Today, Democratic Mayors honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and reaffirm our commitment to advancing justice and equity in our cities and beyond. Dr. King’s work marks a pivotal moment in our nation’s history, and today is a time to reflect on his vision for society and the work that remains to be done to ensure political and economic justice for all. More than ever, we must address the leading issues dividing our nation and look to his guiding principles and unwavering perseverance as a model to move us forward. As Mayors, we pledge to keep equity at the forefront of our work and champion the rights of all communities.”
