DMA Statement on Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani’s Landslide Victory in New York

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Democratic Mayors Association shared the following statement after New York voters elected Zohran Mamdani as their next Mayor: 

“New Yorkers delivered a clear message tonight that they want leadership in City Hall that is focused on the people. Mayor-elect Mamdani has put forth a vision for a safer and more affordable city and tonight’s win reaffirms that voters are looking for leaders who are serious about solutions for working families. 

“We are excited to work with Mayor-elect Mamdani as New York ushers in a new chapter of affordability, safety, and prosperity - for all New Yorkers.”
