Democratic Mayors Association Celebrates the First Anniversary of the Inflation Reduction Act

WASHINGTON, D.C. –  The Democratic Mayors Association (DMA) President Mayor Levar M. Stoney issued the following statement in honor of the one-year anniversary of the Inflation Reduction Act becoming law:

“Today marks the first anniversary of President Joe Biden signing the historic Inflation Reduction Act into law, which has helped our nation foster an economy that works for all Americans rather than just the privileged few. Through its passage, we are continuing to grow our economy from the middle out and bottom up, truly building a better America for all.

The Inflation Reduction Act is uplifting middle-class families by lowering health insurance and prescription drug costs while creating good-paying jobs and reducing the deficit. This law makes the largest investment in climate action in history and will help create a more sustainable future for decades to come.

As Mayors, we applaud this generational investment in our communities as reflected in the Inflation Reduction Act. We commend the Biden-Harris Administration and Congressional Democrats for leading these efforts and putting hard-working families first.”
